The defense of human rights in burkina faso

Since 1991, with the adoption of a new constitution, human rights are in progress in our country. In 2006 a report from the Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affair of the United States of America, The following human rights problems were reported:
• use of excessive force against civilians, criminal suspects, and
• detainees by security forces, resulting in deaths and injuries;
• societal violence;
• abuse of prisoners and harsh prison conditions;
• arbitrary arrest and detention;
• official impunity;
• occasional restrictions on freedom of the press and freedom of assembly;
• violence and discrimination against women and children, including female genital mutilation (FGM);
• trafficking in persons, including children;
• discrimination against persons with disabilities; and
• child labor.

Are human rights really in progress? What is today the situation of human rights in Burkina Faso? Which are the frameworks working in the defence of human rights?
