The Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution came from the 20th Century => colonization, until to the end of the 7 War
7 War ended in 1763. After that, Britain found making war was expensive. Policy shifted after this war, state kept revenue from the colonies. Their attempt to control more and more things increase after the war. 1765: Revolution, tensions.
More colonism resists, more the British try to control the resistance.
1774: Coercive Acts. 1st meeting of the Continental Congress.
Before revolution, main relationship was with Britain.
