Exemple de page de Exposé anglais "children and food"/ the macdonald's generation/

This is a photography of a baby wearing a bib where we can see the McDonald’s logotype, that’s to say a big letter M represented in yellow. By the way, McDonald is a fast food and a very large international company. Behind it, there’s a yellow-and-red form and the rest of the bib is white. The baby is also wearing a cap where French fries are represented. This well-fed and overweight baby has fat pink cheeks and big hands. He’ is sitting down and he's looking at the camera. Moreover, the photo is accompanied of a legend which says « Children and food » and which has a link with the photography.

Indeed, this photo is highlighting a very big problem met especially in the USA: The McDonalds’’ generation and its consequences, that’s to say the obesity principally. There is an explication for this « McDonalds generation » and we can analyse the «  fast food » word to understand it:

First, the word « fast » is pointing out the fact that we live in a society where everything are fast: The transportation, the work, and also the human relation through the meeting chats. So, the Fast food is very anchored in this modern society.

Secondly, the Fast Food answers at an increasing demand of a food prepared quickly which stop the hungry sensation.

In addition, the principal reason for this McDonalds generation is its low price. The children’s overweight is often the result of the education gave by the parents and McDonalds know it: A « children’s menu » has been invented for increase its customer. This menu is accompanied by a little game which make children want to go there again. So, If parents bring their child to a fast food when he’s very young, he will be curious and he will go there again and again. When he will be an adolescent, he will still go there because of his pocket money which won’t be enough to eat in a real restaurant.

So, the Childhood Obesity is a very big and social problem which is boosted today because of the economic crisis: Indeed, people have less money so they search a place where they can eat in family, for a low price.

The relation between the children and the food in the USA is consequently not very healthy, and some figures shows it: Indeed, in the USA, 32 (thirty two) % of the 2-19 years old are overweight, 16(sixteen)% are obese and 11 (eleven)% are extremely obese. This disease can cause serious health problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma... etc... So, there is a real social problem that we should solved, and quickly. nevertheless, there are some solutions which has been found to resolve a little bit this big problem: Every years, 150 billions of dollars are spend to treat diseases related to obesity. Moreover, the USA have established an anti-obesity law which want to ameliorate the American canteens’ food.
